Model of Comprehension

Hey,

I was reading through Chapter 11 and I came across a section that I didn't fully understand. If anyone can help summarize the tenets of Kintsch's Model of Comprehension, I would really appreciate it. As of right now, all I know is that there are two extremes: the goal schema and the text. Thanks!

It seems that there is a great importance given to the "proposition." Predictions can be made as to how quickly things are understood based on how many propositions are present; that is, the more proposed in a sentence, the greater use of long term memory is necessary and it will take longer to understand.
